Salt and cup

Recently i worked on a project where I was tasked to make a salt shaker and cup. I have yet to do the cup but I get the gist of how it will work. When working on the salt shaker, I learned how to use nurbs and create polygons. When I was almost done, I made a mistake and made holes in the model, so I had to artificially patch the holes.

hammer

So I have been working on a hammer in Maya. First I made a rectangle and then made another rectangle. After that I cut the back of the second rectangle, moved the vertices and then I squished it. Finally I made the head and added textures. This is the result.

Music video

Recently, I was assigned to make a music video. We got split up into multiple teams, where we would  decide on what to do. We ended up doing a song called try. First we worked on the story board and film scape. Those were easier to do. Then we had to find volunteers to be part of the cast. I was the one who filmed, which took about 3 hours to finish. Finally we edited, and uploaded the video. Overall, the project was enjoyable and the people in it were great.

ONW now project

This project was a weird one. I haven't been given an outline for this to follow, so ill just give a synopsis of how we finished it, as well as my role in it. We were split into two different groups, and we each did the same thing. We started by coming up with the stories we would use. We then recorded the intro. All the people who were recording stores went out to record them, and I stayed here since I was part of production. we did a few run-throughs. and then actually recorded. After that we were finally done.

Multilayer/ Story blog

So, my multilayer project is complete. I decided what I would do, is make it on a distant planet. I am not the one who made the planet, however I did recreate it, thus the title. It took me a little extra time to finish it, but boy am I glad I did. I first made the background and worked up for the rest. I edited the movement of the layers, and this was the result.

I couldn't finish the story animation. Im sorry. here is what I have though

Final

My first project of  the year was a remake of my bouncing ball project. I  Made a ball with a background and multiple layers for the foreground. Through the project i learned how to use after effects to make animations. I haven't been very great at using after effects, but I do know enough about it to make it work and get things done, and done well. I have been trying to improve my skills. If I could redo this animation, I would have  fixed all the little errors with it. Overall, this was a well done project, that I enjoyed making.

Another one of the projects I did was the story animation. It required me to make multiple characters, backgrounds, faces and layers. Through this project I learned that animation is incredibly time consuming. I spent hours upon hours working on it, but then issues occurred leaving me no time to work. I ended up staying after eventually, but even that wasn't enough, thus it is incomplete. However after this is up, I will be posting the work I did get done.

My first big project in Maya, was making a castle with polygons. I learned how to use booleans, as well as apply textures. It was a very interesting project, and a lot of fun too, since I was doing something new. As soon as I finished it, I screwed up something with the camera, so it didn't look quite right. If I could do it again, I wouldn't screw up the camera.

written story

Every day we are constantly using our phones, wether we are playing games, talking with friends, or streaming videos, we all seem to be using them multiple times a day. Some use them more than others, some use less. We went into the halls to ask people about their phone usage as well as how addicted society is to them. Our most common answers to those questions were either yes, or it depends. A lot of people we talked to said that they were addicted to their phones, and some said they were not. Through this, we can infer that it just depends upon the person who is using it.
